🇬🇼 Guinea-Bissau

MM-Suisse Project in Guinea-Bissau
In one of the poorest countries in the world, this project is bringing hope and transformation across multiple areas of society.
With a strong focus on training and mentoring local people, the team is equipping Guineans to build a better future for their communities. Their work is already impacting hundreds of families and shaping the next generation.

Key areas of focus include:
Education
In Gabu, the country’s second-largest city, the team runs a school with over 600 pupils, widely recognised as the best in the region. Through teacher training and high educational standards, student performance and motivation have significantly improved.
Health
Healthcare remains a critical challenge, particularly for mothers and children. The team operates a clinic and a mobile clinic serving surrounding villages, while training local healthcare workers. They have also established a dedicated maternity unit—addressing one of the highest childbirth mortality rates in the world—and are actively training midwives and doulas to save lives.
Youth
With very limited employment opportunities, many young people are at risk. Through sports teams, camps, and community activities, the project offers a positive environment where youth can grow, develop skills, and find purpose.
By investing in people, this project is creating lasting change in a nation that needs it most.
